#whenigrowupchallenge

While growing up as an inner city youth in Brooklyn, NY I had an opportunity to participate in an afterschool program. Until this day I remember the confidence it instilled in me. It provided the space to explore new opportunities such as modern dance and drama as well as a safe place to enjoy being a kid. When I was a child I wanted to be a lawyer. After completing my degree in psychology and criminal justice, my passion shifted to wanting to prevent young people from entering the criminal justice system. I discovered that through exposure and access to alternative educational opportunities, young people have a greater drive and motivation to finish high school, go onto college, trade school or the military and become successful adults.

The programs that Roads to Success provides can be the springboard that ignites talents such as sculpting or hand drawn animation, encourages young people to become young leaders through service learning and creative thinkers through activities such as debate. Roads to Success is able to sustain its programs due to generous grants and donors like you! Please support our annual appeal by making a donation today! Every dollar you contribute allows us to expose more young people to opportunities that will support their journey on the road to success.
