Angelo Cabrera

Deputy Director of Education and Career Pathways

Senior Leadership

Angelo Cabrera brings a wealth of experience and a deeply personal perspective to his role at Roads to Success. As a former undocumented, unaccompanied minor and homeless youth, Angelo has firsthand insight into the challenges faced by undocumented students. Over the past 30 years, Angelo has called New York City home and has dedicated his life to public service, founding a non-profit organization to support immigrant communities in the South Bronx, advocating for access to higher education, and helping to establish a Dual Language Charter School to assist recent immigrant students with language transition.

His career is marked by activism and policy change. Angelo led movements advocating for In-State Tuition legislation in New York through community organizing, and he worked closely with CUNY and the Mexican Consulate to increase enrollment for Mexican and Mexican American students.

His commitment to educational equity for BIPOC and undocumented students is evident through his focus on dismantling systemic racism and supporting students in overcoming migration trauma.

At Roads to Success, Angelo’s passion for eradicating racial inequality aligns seamlessly with the organization’s mission. He is dedicated to ensuring that all young people, regardless of their background, have access to the education and tools they need to achieve their full potential.

Outside of his professional work, Angelo remains active in humanitarian efforts, community service, and educational advocacy. He enjoys learning about technology, photography, and content creation, using these skills to further his impact.
