Executive Team
Esther Kuykendoll, the Chief Administrative Officer at RTS, brings a lifelong dedication to advocating for communities of color, particularly children and youth. Raised by immigrant parents in a working-class environment, Esther understands firsthand the significance of safe spaces and supportive programs for young people.
With a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications and a master's degree in Urban Policy and Administration, Esther's career path has been deeply rooted in effecting change through human services. From her early days at the Harlem Children Zone to her roles at Goodwill Industries, the YMCA, and Union Settlement, Esther's journey reflects her commitment to leading organizations that make a tangible impact on communities of color.
Her passion lies in addressing existing disparities and improving upward mobility for New York City's youth. Esther believes that access to affordable summer camps, after-school programs, and enrichment opportunities is essential for all young people, regardless of their background or zip code. She sees RTS programs as a bridge to opportunity, providing vital support and resources for youth to realize their full potential.
Esther served as the immediate past 2nd Vice President of her local alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and currently on the Board of Trustees at The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey. She advocates for black maternal health, women's rights, and voter registration. Esther is actively involved in supporting local organizations that promote black maternal health and regularly organizes events and programs to raise awareness of disparities and improve access to healthcare.
As a mother of two boys, Esther cherishes spending quality time with her family, nurturing bonds and creating lasting memories. Her multifaceted dedication to public service, community advocacy, and family exemplifies her unwavering commitment to creating positive change and empowering the next generation.
