Larry Hackett’s journey into journalism began on the first day of his sophomore year at Boston University, where he stepped into the college newspaper and never looked back. Starting as a reporter and eventually becoming the editor, he honed his skills before moving on to a professional career at various newspapers, ultimately landing at the New York Daily News. In 1998, Larry transitioned to magazines and became the editor-in-chief of People, one of the largest and most influential publications in the country.
Larry’s passion for storytelling and curiosity have driven his career.
A pivotal moment came when childhood friend Charlie Miles invited him to join Roads to Success during a challenging time for the organization. This opportunity allowed Larry to connect with a mission that resonates with him deeply.
He finds immense fulfillment in journalism and is dedicated to making a positive impact through his work with RTS.
In his personal time, Larry enjoys reading, cooking, playing guitar, and fly fishing. He is also an avid traveler, with recent adventures taking him to his favorite cities: Istanbul, Hanoi, and Berlin.
