Black History Month: Kemiah Frazier and Tajia Taylor's Passion for Empowerment

February 16, 2024

At Roads to Success, we are fortunate to have passionate team members who uplift youth and communities through their work empowering the leaders of tomorrow.

This Black History Month, we shine a light on two staff members igniting change - Kemiah Frazier and Tajia Taylor.

Kemiah first joined Roads to Success in elementary school, finding her voice through dance with the guidance of mentors. Now 21, she pays that support forward as a Dance Instructor across multiple RTS sites. Kemiah forges deep connections with students by encouraging creative expression through art. She advocates for their needs, building confidence and helping them overcome anxieties. Her dedication to empowering youth is unmatched. We are honored to have this rising star nurturing the next generation. Kemiah truly embodies our mission, evolving from participant to inspirational mentor.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Tajia found her calling working with NYC youth. In her three years at RTS, she has gone above and beyond to enrich our students’ lives by incorporating her many talents and passions. We are grateful for Tajia’s commitment to uplifting communities through her work and volunteer efforts. She inspires us daily with her spirit, drive and dedication.

Tajia shares, “My heritage has influenced my career and choices because I was taught to fight for what I want. Knowing my ancestors struggled with adversity stuck with me.”

Together, Kemiah and Tajia represent the heart of RTS. Their work epitomizes our core values of independance, mastery, belonging and generosity. This Black History Month, we celebrate their talents and instrumental impact guiding youth in NYC. Our community is brighter thanks to their efforts.

Thank you, Kemiah and Tajia, for being shining lights!
