On November 21st, Roads to Success(RTS) proudly announced the launch of its Digital Literacy Program at the Boston Secor Community Center in the Bronx. This milestone represents our steadfast commitment to bridging the digital divide and equipping our community with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. With invaluable support from AT&T, this program offers two tailored tracks, ensuring both youth and adults can confidently and safely navigate the digital age.
AT&T’s partnership with RTS is part of their larger Connected Learning initiative—a mission dedicated to closing the digital divide for millions of Americans. With a nationwide commitment to bring resources and technology to underserved communities, AT&T is empowering individuals to achieve their goals.
John Emra, President of AT&T Atlantic Region, perfectly captured the heart of this collaboration.
“At AT&T, we believe every student deserves an opportunity to make their dreams a reality. Our investment in the digital literacy programming and tech lab at Roads to Success directly reflects our commitment to get more New York kids connected and make an impact in the communities we serve.”

The RTS Digital Literacy Program is uniquely impactful because of its intergenerational approach. Through its two tracks, participants of all ages are equipped with vital digital skills:
Thanks to Concorde Education’s expert curriculum and the community-focused recruitment efforts by R.A.I.N., this program not only fosters learning but also builds deeper connections among participants.
Bashan Fernandez, RTS Chief Program Officer, shared,
“What makes this program especially impactful is its intergenerational focus. The AT&T Tech Room will serve as a shared space where young people and adults can learn and grow together, exchanging ideas and fostering a deeper sense of community. These connections ripple outward, strengthening not only individuals but the entire community.”
This program is a significant step toward RTS’s mission of empowering 7,000 young people annually across East and West Harlem, South Bronx, and Central Brooklyn. By integrating digital literacy into our offerings, we are making advancements in workforce skill-building, financial literacy, and community engagement.
Sheila Duke, CEO of RTS, expressed her gratitude and excitement:
“The Digital Literacy Program marks a pivotal step forward for our community. Thanks to AT&T's support, we are bringing digital education directly to the residents of Boston Secor, helping them build confidence and thrive in a digital society.”
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to fostering opportunities for learning and connection. The AT&T Digital Literacy Room isn’t just a space for technology; it’s a hub for empowerment, resilience, and dreams.
To AT&T and all the partners who believe in the potential of our youth and adults—thank you for making this possible. Your support is transforming lives and futures here in the Bronx.
Together, we’re not just bridging the digital divide; we’re building bridges to brighter tomorrows.
