Reflections from the Roads to Success Senior Leadership Retreat: A Day of Growth, Gratitude, and Vision

On September 16th, RTS held its Senior Leadership Retreat, a day planned and hosted by our CEO, Sheila Duke. It was the perfect opportunity to step away from our daily routine and reconnect with our mission, vision, and, most importantly, one another. In a world where we are often caught up in the hustle, this retreat gave us time to pause and reflect on how, as teammates, we are collectively and collaboratively working towards uplifting our community.

The day was filled with team-building games that brought more than just fun—they were packed with lessons. These activities allowed us to bond on a deeper level, getting to know the people we work with every day in ways we hadn’t before. It was surprising to realize how little we truly know about each other, despite spending eight hours a day, five days a week, working side by side. The biggest revelation of the day was that while each of us isunique, we are all united by a shared passion for uplifting lives and strengthening our community.

The retreat also featured a delicious lunch, served with breathtaking views from Chelsea Bells, offering a beautiful moment of relaxation and reflection. As we shared a meal, we shared ideas, aspirations,and a common goal—to collaboratively develop the strategy that will guide RTS over the next two years. 

In reflecting on the experience, Sheila Duke shared,

"This retreat was envisioned as a moment for our leadership to reconnect, realign, and re energize. It’s about creating space to not only reflect on what we've accomplished but to dream even bigger for the future. I’m proud of what we’ve done and excited for what’s to come—our future is bright."

The retreat concluded with a collective reflection on the past year and a moment of gratitude for the milestones we’ve achieved. It’s been an incredible year filled with so many wins, and the future looks even more promising.

Esther Kuykendoll, our Chief Administrative Officer,expressed her gratitude,

"I’m so thankful for the incredible team I get to work alongside daily. This retreat reminded me of the passion and dedication each of us brings to our mission. Together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish." 

As we look ahead, this retreat marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for RTS. We’re not just thinking about the year behind us,but also laying the foundation for what’s to come. With a renewed sense of unity and purpose, we’re ready to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead—together.
