Roads to Success

On February 29th, over 40 Roads to Success high school students embarked on an enriching career exploration experience at Deloitte's office in Manhattan. The highly-anticipated event was made possible thanks to the dedication of Roads to Success Board Member Allie O'Shea and Associate Board Member Caroline Frommelt.

Upon arrival, the youth aged 14-18 were warmly greeted by an enthusiastic team of 14 Deloitte professionals, ready to guide them through an engaging day of self-discovery and career insights. Splitting into two groups, the students rotated through a series of interactive sessions.

The day kicked off with an introduction to Deloitte, providing context on the company's diverse operations. However, the true highlight was the thought-provoking conversation around "finding your purpose." In this safe space, students candidly opened up about their interests, passions, and approaches to problem-solving.

This exercise enabled the youth to dive deep into their unique traits and how those personal attributes could translate into future professional paths. The subsequent Q&A segment allowed participants to ask candid questions about choosing the right educational journey and career field.

As the day wrapped up, the Deloitte team saved the best for last – a guided tour of their breathtaking Manhattan office. Students marveled at the stunning city views, envisioning themselves in such vibrant workspaces someday.

Experiences like this career day are invaluable for exposing youth to corporate environments and planting seeds of inspiration for their future endeavors.
